May the Great Mother
And all the Goddesses
Bless you and yours.

Prayer to Hekate for the Dead

Hail Hekate, Mighty Eternal Queen,
Divine Mediator,
She who walks between the worlds,
Torch-bearer who shines Her light
Upon our path.
Hear me now,
Mistress of Death,
Welcome this departed soul.
I call upon You,
Great Light,
Embrace this soul as they pass through
The gates of death.
Guide my beloved safely
To the other side,
Offer them comfort,
As they cross the threshold
From this life to the next.
Be with us now in our time of grief.
May we know the peace of eternity.
Let the light of their memory burn bright,
Give us the faith to know that all
That dies shall be reborn.

Hallows Everyday 29

Cast the Circle, made it bound,

Hagstone, besom, cup and flame,

We ride the way in the Lady's name.

Here is Her wisdom, for She is within.

Here is Her mystery where magick begins.

Circle of Power, Circle of Might,

Our circle is cast in the dark of the night!

Hallows Everyday 28

Oh Spirits unto life return,
Arise thee from land’s deep hollow.

The old fire does smoke and burn,

a beacon light we bid ye follow.

O Spirits to the Circle come,

Enjoy our feast this Hallows’ Night.

About the fire burning bright,

gather ye Old Ones, Spirits, and Shades,

Come ye to this hallowed ground,

unto the joyous rites here made.

Dance and tread the Castle’s Round.

By Witch’s Dance and serpent coil,

Beloved Dead, we thee invoke

The witch’s pot to gently boil,

amidst the sweet and rising  smoke.

O Spirit presence draw ye near,

voices whisper and visions show

In fire, incense, and shadows appear,

all the witch would seek to know.

By skull and bones crossed we conjure thee, Come ye forth, so shall it be.

 Crone's Wisdom

Hear the Wisdom of the Crone;

Her seeds of youth have long been sown.

Life has taught Her lessons well;

Listen closely to all She tells.

Once a Maiden so wild and free;

Beautiful, spontaneous, and full of glee.

Then a Mother She became;

Her views of life forever changed.

Now a Crone and willing to share;

Her deepest thoughts She will bare.

So listen to all that She may say;

Its Wisdom to help lead your way.

A Magic Potion Just For You

Find a very tall black hat;

Fill it with a squeaky bat.

Catch a clever shiny crow;

Gather up the pumpkins' glow.

Call your black cat home to you;

Summon up a ghost or two.

Throw in lots of special treats,

Like candy corn and lizard feets.

Simmer, bubble, stew and wait....

Then it's time to celebrate!

Hallows Everyday 25

    Serpents and spiders, tail of a rat,
Call in the Spirits, Wherever they're at.
Rap on a table, it's time to respond.
Send us a message from somewhere beyond.
Goblins and ghouls from last Halloween
Awaken the Spirits with your tambourine.
Creepies and crawlies, Toads in a pond,
Let there be music from regions beyond.
Wizards and witches, wherever you dwell,
Give us a hint by ringing a bell!

 A Charm To Call the Dead

Create an incense by mixing together some vervain, saffron, cinnamon, and ground pepper, then moisten with just enough honey to hold it all together.

Light a charcoal in your cauldron, create sacred space in your usual manner, then light a black candle. Work yourself into a mild trance state. Begin placing bits of your incense on the charcoal. Repeat this charm three times:

Ancestors of mine, hear this plea,
Come now, join me, come be with me.
Only those who love me are welcome in this place,
Only those who love me may enter my sacred space.
Guidance and wisdom share now with me.
I call out with love, allow me to see!

Now allow yourself to listen and be aware, adding a bit more incense. Use any type of tool, cards, crystal ball, or other tools, call out and wait for a sign or response.

When done, clear you space asking that any spirits return to their realm. Give a blessing and then ground yourself by eating and drinking something.

The Veil Is Thinning

As I went out walking this fall afternoon,
I heard a laugh a' laughing.
I heard a laugh a' laughing,
Upon this fine fall day...

I heard this whisper and I wondered,
I heard this laugh and then I knew.
The time is getting near my friends,
The time that I hold dear my friends,
The veil is getting thin my friends,
And strange things will pass through.

 "Season of the Crone"

Crone of Samhain's spellbound cold,

in Her cauldron of black are told

secrets ancient, truths and tales:

mystery Her light unveils.

She is wisdom, She is changes:

time and space She rearranges.

In Her hands, the card of Death,

for transformation is Her breath.

Crone of Samhain, Grandmother wise,

look into Her gargoyle eyes.

Let Her lessons teach you well:

life is but a magick spell.

Hallows Everyday 19

 Remember Witch, Remember

Take your feathers, leaves, and bones.
Add to them your roots, your stones.
Mix them in your cauldron's womb.
Dance for rain and add that, too.
Your time is now, each heartbeat rings:
Remember Witch, Remember.
You know the way, you know the song.
You've walked this path
your whole life long.
Drumbeat sounding, heartbeat pounding
The One's before you, love resounding.
With every turn of season, moon
With every deosil swirl of spoon
You chant the words, you hum the tune:
Remember Witch, Remember.
The stars are out, your feet are bare.
Your arms are raised into the air.
No one told you what to do.
You knew the way, the Way knows you.
So let it go. Release it down.
Heart and blood and bones to ground:
Remember Witch, Remember.
