Wow -- I guess I have had my head in the sand. Thanks for bringing this subject to your blog for all to read. Personally this whole episode is nothing but an attempt to break women of the opportunity to control their own bodies. Those old smug, so-and-so, men lined up as witnesses is a joke to the civilized world. I see this attempt by religious leaders to decide what women can have for their bodies is just pushing us back to the dark ages. Republicans -- shame on you. -- barbara
Exactly, Barbara. This is a very dangerous time for women, there is a very strong force determined to set us back to a time where we had no say about our bodies. To deny women representation is very serious and that is what happened here, it is a disgrace. I don't think it is just Republicans, there are many men, of different politics, who are misogynists and want to shut women up and take away all our rights. These men are afraid of women and that is the bottom line - powerful, independent women frighten some men, many men. It has always been so. I am no man hater, I have been married for almost 32 years, luckily I married a feminist - he LOVES strong women! We must speak out, we must educate and inform. I plan to keep doing it - on my blog as well as in person, wherever I go.
