A Healing Spell

Here is a beautiful chant I found for when working self-healing.

Gather:
3 candles, purple, green, and white, candle holders
A healing incense of your choice. Suggestions: Hem Divine Healing,  Satya Reiki, Frankincense, whatever you like.
Incense burner, matches or lighter,

At a time when you can have privacy and quiet, gather your supplies. Allow yourself to relax and do some breathing work that will relax you. I find the following technique very soothing and helpful even during anxiety: breathe in through the nose for a count of 6 to 8, hold for 4, breathe out through the nose for a count of 8 to 10. Hold for 4.  Repeat at least for or five times. Allow yourself, your body to release all tension, let go. Focus your thoughts on surrounding yourself with white, golden, or violet light.

Light all three candles along with the healing incense of your choice. Repeat this chant 9 times as your candles burn. Know that perfect healing in whatever way is needed is yours. Now recite the chant nine times. Allow the candles to burn out completely or extinguish and repeat for 3 days in a row. Be sure to drink some nettle tea or infusion after. While working the spell, listen to some Solfeggio frequency music to intensify the magick.

A bit about nettle tea: I learned about nettle tea from my friend Cynthia at Medicine Woods Botanicals, she also was the former owner of Moonmaid Botanicals, and has been an herbalist for well over 40 years. She taught me that nettles make a most healing, nourishing tonic and recommends it highly. You can buy her Nourishing NettleTea at her website www.medicinewoodsbotanicals.com.  I try to drink a quart throughout the day, several days a week. I also like her Mega Minerals Tea which is very nourishing and healing too.

To make the most nourishing infusion, take a quart jar or glass measuring cup, add 1/4 cup dried nettles, pour boiling water to fill the jar. Lightly cover and leave at least four hours or overnight to steep. I prepare mine before bed and leave overnight on the counter. In the morning I strain the infusion and drink through the day. I like the taste which is earthy and green, and drink it as is. You can sweeten with a bit of honey if you like. I also charge my infusion with Reiki, you can also say a blessing over it and charge in whatever manner you prefer.

Monday Moonday Oracle

7: Legacy of Light

We are advised to accept support and nourishment from those who came before us, our ancestors, not only those of our bloodline, but those of spirit. By doing this, partaking of the feast They lay before us, we become bearers of that legacy for those who we will support in the future. This light is wisdom, creativity, change, love, and respect. We carry this within and need to allow its brilliance to come through.

There is a choice we are in the process of making, or have made, and this message is confirmation it in alignment with our sacred purpose. The choice we made or are making is of great importance to us, to our spiritual growth.

Our Ancestors that surround us at this time are those of unconditional love and the place we are coming from in making our choice or decision is one of love and pure intention to live our lives and do the best we can for ourselves. This will overflow and extend to others in our lives as we remain true to ourselves, our purpose and passion.

We do, in fact, have some special creative or healing offerings to make that are of importance. Do it, pursue it, let it come into being. It is the right path.

Weekend Oracle

Core: the center of our existence, the center of our entire being. And like the earth’s core, this is a place that is almost impossible to reach. Yet… we know it is there, and its very nature holds us together, its energy providing stability and change. In that center, our core, there is equalization and weightlessness, everything comes into being from here.

When the pressures of life become too much, when we cannot find balance, let us travel deep within ourselves, to the very heart of our being and find rest. Drift, float, we can find peace in that stillness that lives at the very center of our beings.

It is not an easy task to get there, it can be a rough journey taking perseverance. But we can get there, we do it sometimes without realizing it. And at the core, we find peace.

Whatever is going on in the world, our lives, we need to withdraw into that core space. When choices need to be made, the answer lies at the heart of the situation and the action we may need to take. What does our gut tell us? Weigh all the options, plot the journey, the answer is there and peace, stability will come back into being. Just like the molten fire at the earth’s core, our own fire of life and light is there, deep inside. That energy will provide answers, will provide strength. Utilizing what we have is the key and we all have something there to get us through. Burrowing within, finding our center, all will come into balance.

Monday Moonday Oracle

:
39: Priestess of the Gift to Serve.

I pulled this card and really got a great deal from it, different in some ways from the deck’s guide book so I am going with my intuition.

This card is about being of service to community and tribe, to others. However, I strongly sense that at this time we need to be of service to ourselves first. We need to take a good look around at us, at how we have been living, feeling, what we have been doing , and who we have been serving. This card’s message is about trusting our intuition but not being fooled by illusions. This is speaking so loudly to us. People will take as much as we give… and keep taking. Who does that really serve? We can’t care for everyone, and it really isn’t our job. Let us listen to and take care of ourselves first. Our own devotional duties come first, our Goddesses deserve our attention before we go off ministering to everyone else. Of course be of service where we can, send healing, assist, but only after we have taken care of ourselves. We need to look within then look around - how does that align? Are we staying true to our own purpose and passions? Are we neglecting ourselves and putting other things and people first? Are we allowing ourselves to give without limit?

Give powerfully to ourselves and we will then have enough to give to those who deserve and need our help, those who will be grateful and give in return with love. We have a purpose, but that doesn’t mean only to others, our priority is ourselves, our goddesses, our path. When we are fulfilled from within, we will have enough to share.

Weekend Oracle

31: Tlazolteoll, Restoration and Transformation

Tlazolteoll is an Aztec Moon Goddess, a pardoner of sins, Eater of Filth. She is the one to whom one’s worst deeds were confessed to. Sacrifices were made to Her to receive the purifying and regenerative energies of earth. A midwife, who through decomposition of that which no longer serves us, brings life. She proves that what overwhelms and destroys can also heal. A goddess of spinners and weavers, Tlazolteoll connects us to the cycle of creation and the ever changing powers of the Earth. She eats the errors of Her children and restores them to who they really are.

It is time, let us transform and restore whatever it is in our lives right now that needs change and healing. No matter what it is, this toxic energy holds us in fear, shame, and insecurity.

Tlazolteoll’s message is to come to Her and allow Her to assist in releasing whatever it is. We all make mistakes, we all have experiences that hurt and harmed, we have been harmed by others, we have harmed ourselves. But She tells us we are truly perfect in our essence. We are strong enough to resolve and heal these issues, to move through and past them. We do not need to stay in that energy which keeps us from experiencing joy, peace, and the wonder of life.

In Her name, make offerings: donate clothing or food to shelters or food banks, clear away things you no longer need, tidy your garden or some place in nature that needs some restoration; cleanse yourself and your space. Then, be more mindful of how you conduct yourself, how you care for yourself, how you treat others, the Earth.

Tlazolteoll reminds us that there is no sin, only errors in life’s journey. Be brave, the pain of transformation is temporary.

Weekend Oracle: Blue Tara

Blue Tara: Transmutation of Anger

One of the 21 Taras, Blue Tara represents Unity and Transmutation of Anger. She offers assistance in cleansing negativity and restoring positive energy in our lives. She helps us release fear and anxiety. It is interesting that Green Tara advised us last week. It is time to heal.

We are guided to release our anger, stand up for ourselves. And there is no need to hold back or express this anger aggressively. There are other ways.

We sit down, paying attention to our feelings, seeing the shadowy part that comes forward. We see it, accept it, and let it go. We ascend to our healing and spiritual path. We claim our power and break the circle that keeps us dwelling on that which does not serve us. We heal with strength and gentleness, love and balance.

Imbolc & Full Moon Blessings

 Imbolc and Full Moon Blessings.

As the seeds stir, may you find renewal, regeneration, and restoration,

Yes, despite the snow and cold, the seeds are stirring and the blood is warming. We are still in the mode of rest, but renewal is coming. Taking time to care for ourselves is part of our devotional and magickal work. Warming, nourishing foods, soothing , healing meditations, spells for renewal and restoration are all part of taking care. The energy of the full moon will enhance all of that, so get busy, my dears.

Monday Moonday Mushroom Oracle

31 Verdigris Agaric, Impress

We are beautiful and the things we do are beautiful. Our purpose: stand out, let ourselves be seen showing the world our beauty. Standing up, making an impression can have important effects on others. We just never know, because many times we hesitate, we are unsure of our own worth. But, the truth is we do have something to offer. So let go, free ourselves, believe in ourselves, put it right out there. Our purpose doesn’t have to be a big one in the scheme of things. We just never know.  And we never know how long we are here for, so… get busy, make life good. Let’s get out of the rage and anger cycle, embrace beauty, open our hearts, stand proud and beautiful. We are enough.

You Are Becoming You

I took a bit of poetic license with this so I would be talking to the Goddess.

Me: Hey Goddess.

Goddess : Hello.....

Me: I'm falling apart. Can you put me back together?

Goddess: I would rather not.

Me: Why?

God: Because you aren't a puzzle.

Me: What about all of the pieces of my life that are falling down onto the ground?

Goddess : Let them stay there for a while. They fell off for a reason. Take some time and decide if you need any of those pieces back.

Me: You don't understand! I'm breaking down!

Goddess : No - you don't understand. You are breaking through. What you are feeling are just growing pains. You are shedding the things and the people in your life that are holding you back. You aren't falling apart. You are falling into place. Relax. Take some deep breaths and allow those things you don't need anymore to fall off of you. Quit holding onto the pieces that don't fit you anymore. Let them fall off. Let them go.

Me: Once I start doing that, what will be left of me?

Goddess : Only the very best pieces of you.

Me: I'm scared of changing.

Goddess : I keep telling you - YOU AREN'T CHANGING!! YOU ARE BECOMING!

Me: Becoming who?

Goddess : Becoming who I created you to be! A person of light and love and charity and hope and courage and joy and mercy and grace and compassion. I made you for more than the shallow pieces you have decided to adorn yourself with that you cling to with such greed and fear. Let those things fall off of you. I love you! Don't change! ... Become! Become! Become who I made you to be. I'm going to keep telling you this until you remember it.

Me: There goes another piece.

Goddess : Yep. Let it be.

Me: So ... I'm not broken?

Goddess: Of course Not! - but you are breaking like the dawn. It's a new day. Become!!!

Creativity

Creativity
Universal Love Healing Oracle Cards
by Toni Carmine Salerno

Because I work in a metaphysical store, I get to see a lot of tarot and oracle decks... in addition to all the crystals, candles, incense... need I go on? I order the books, decks, and other goodies so I get to read about the decks and research reviews. This deck, The Universal Love Healing Oracle, is not really something I thought would resonate with me, but the art was so beautiful I ordered a deck for myself. Was I ever wrong about the deck not resonating! From the first shuffle I knew there was something important for me. The first pull of the cards, a simple three card spread, assisted me in dealing with a painful issue which had left me feeling betrayed. My guidance was just perfect. Despite never being able hold a grudge for anything, I was holding on to the hurt and anger. With the guidance from these cards, I was able to work through it and let it go. Shuffling the cards to clear them after the reading, the main card in the spread jumped out again.

Today, I pulled a card for my husband. Again, the cards addressed an issue for him that, while not any big deal, was something that would benefit him if he followed the guidance. I never know how he will react to this type of advice, but he found it helpful and thought it was "on the mark" so to speak.

Shuffling again, I pulled a card for myself, Creativity. I recently have begun painting and stitching again after a creative dry spell. This card advises that an aura of creativity surrounds me and Life's universal force fills my soul seeking expression through me. I need to open my heart, let go of self-judgement and doubt, and let the Divine flow through me. Expressing my emotions through my creativity will allow me to be true to myself, love unconditionally, and know my metaphoric voice is being heard. My creativity, anyone's creativity, is much more than the product produced, whatever it may be - art, embroidery, music, dance, poetry, etc. It occurred to me that perhaps this wasn't a message just for me, perhaps it was meant for all of us. This expression of the Goddess/Divine through creativity leads me, and all of us, to heal.

Sounds very new age for a witch who practices as I do, I thought... at first. A little cogitating brought it all together for me. Divine love is truly the answer to all things. Love itself is the answer for all of us if we truly wish to heal and live life fulfilled on all levels.

My practice has been undergoing some changes, shifting, and evolving. I encounter many practitioners who are experiencing similar changes. It is good to discuss, exchange ideas, and receive and give validation. The world is a wild place right now, we need to work toward healing as much as we can. It begins with our own healing and then radiates out toward the rest of the world. I felt the need to share all this and so I do.

In Hekate's name, blessings nine!

21 Days of the Winter Solstice 15

Winter Blues Spell

To help melt away the blues of winter that come
after the holidays and just from being cold.

Put a black candle in a small candle holder and place
it in a bowl. Put ice, snow or crushed ice in a bowl
around the candle, just to cover the candle holder.
Sprinkle a small amount of white sage and sea salt
over the ice. Light the candle and say:

Be gone, be gone, be gone away.
Let all darkness melt away.
Return the light as my spirit burns,
For in this flame my spirit returns.

Allow the candle to burn out.
Before burying the remains of the spell,
try foreseeing, read the shapes and designs
formed within the melted candle wax.

Hearth - Happiness in our hearts and homes
The Halloween Oracle by Stacey DeMarco

There is no place like home... for most of us... or at least the home in our hearts, that place we long to have as our sanctuary, our place of comfort. No matter how large or small, no matter how rich or poor we are, we can certainly make that place, because that sweet home is not made with money and possessions, it is made with love.

With this card we are nudged to look at what makes our sanctuary. It tells us to look to our relationships with family and friends. We build that place of love - our hearth, our heart of the home - by bringing in the loving fires. We need to make our relationships the priority in our lives, not to the exclusion of all else, but healthy relationships are maintained by being nourished. We nourish with love, freely given and received, compassionate and unconditional.

Now some may think that they will lose when relationships become the priority, one person cares more and most no longer want to risk being the person who cares more, who struggles to keep the heart of the home, the loving fire, burning. The truth is that without love, there is nothing to hold the home together and there is nothing to hold us together. Even if one lives alone, or a couple has no children, love is still what holds it all together, it is that which creates the sanctuary. And that sanctuary, that loving home, is just the best place to be. We must begin by loving ourselves, warts and all; that is unconditional love. Next, accepting who our families are, again unconditionally. This does not mean accepting abuse of any kind, it means filling the home with love that will heal.

We have come to a time where family and friends mean less than money and possessions. Conflicts are not dealt with to resolve them, relationships are discarded because there is no sense that they are more important, necessary to creating and nourishing a healthy environment in which to live. It seems today it is easier to walk away than work to nourish that home fire.

At this time of year, it is the perfect time to build that merry home fire, to make our homes the sanctuary they ought to be. We need to take stock of our relationships and give them love. As fluffy as it sounds, the fire in the heart and our lives, is love. When one has love, wherever it comes from, and that includes the self, one has everything. The love of self is where it all begins, creating the initial loving flame that spreads throughout our lives and making the hearth fire burn strongly, overcoming all.

A few times a week, or every night if you can, light a special candle designated as your home fire. As it burns merrily recite this little prayer, perhaps three times if you feel so inclined, with real feeling and visualizing loving energies flowing and filling your home. Allow the candle to burn for an hour or so, then extinguish.

I ask my Ancestors, those who love me,
Come and fill my home and family
with all that is loving and good.
May we be surrounded and filled with
that which is nourishing to us in all ways.
May we know love and kindness and happiness,
good health and prosperity.
May the flame of our home burn brightly always
bringing all we ever need.
So mote it be!

Hallows Everyday - 20

7 - Steampunk Priestess
Divine Circus Oracle by Alana Fairchild
Artwork: Miss Red by Monique Tulp

They eye of love in my heart
and the eye of light in my head
show me the truths most helpful for me to see
at the perfect time and in the perfect way.
I feel relaxed and comfortable,
trusting in what I see, when I see it.

At this season, with the veil between the worlds so thin, we sometimes cannot believe what we may see or what our own intuition tells us is true, for whatever reason. This card, the Steampunk Priestess, tells us there is more than what meets the eye, be it contact from the other side, or something hidden in a person or situation.

What is needed here is trust, trust in ourselves and our own intuition, trust in our guides and guardians, trust in the Ancestors. A deep and closer look to understand and discern what is happening, what we perceive, even when we have doubt or it seems so fantastical. Trust what you already perceive, even when we see, on the surface, that our intuition is at odds with what is before us in the mundane world. We need to trust our insight no matter how strange or startling it may be. No matter how confusing, all will come into right focus and we will easily understand.

Healing: To help us take the wisdom offered, the following technique will assist to clear obstacles while putting true guidance into place.

We will place our dominant hand (the one we write with) over our hearts and place our non-dominant hands at the third eye. We then will close our eyes, relax and take a few breaths. When ready,  we will open our eyes and say the following:

My intention is clear, I see all I need to see.
I free myself in heart and mind,
to look beyond the surface of things,
to witness the deeper reality.

When ready, we relax and come back to the present. If there is something in particular we need clarification about, or we just would like to receive a message, this is a good time. We make our intention clear:

The unconditionally loving heart of my eye
shows me the truth in the matter of _____________ .
I receive the insights I need for understanding and resolution.
In the name of the Mother of All, so mote it be. *

Now we gaze at the oracle card above and allow ourselves to relax. We focus gently on the circle at the Priestess's third eye, between and just above the frames of her spectacles. We feel, visualize, imagine that it becomes a beam of light that is sent to our own third eye. We strongly, but gently feel a circular light shining in our heads. That light feels cool and clear, open and bright, but relaxing too.

Now we trust in the insights that come to us, we allow them to drift across our intuitive vision, even when they simply come into our minds, seemingly from nowhere. We trust what we see.

Blessings dark and deep!

* I adapted this line of Alana's affirmation to be more in tune with my spiritual path with the goddess. Here is Alana's original sentence which you may use if this feels right for you:
"According to divine grace and divine timing, so be it."

Hallows Everyday - 18

2 - Self-Renewal
Soulful Woman Oracle
by Shushann Movesessian & Gemma Summers

This is a new deck I just obtained and this is the first card I have drawn; perfect for this season.

As I clean out old energies
I have more space for that which
wants to be birthed into my life.

Time to do some clearing work on ourselves, in our homes, work, even the car. When was the last time we smudged any of these places? When was the last time we took the time to really focus and bless our spaces, ourselves? This card reminds us that this is the perfect time to take stock of what is around us and how it affects us. Perhaps some decluttering and autumn cleaning is in order too.

When we keep our spaces and selves clear of stagnant or unhealthy energies, we are more fully able to release what doesn't serve us; the energy that is fresh, healthy, and energetically enriching and nurturing is more easily available to us. Our minds, on an intellectual level as well as a psychic level are clear and open to receiving the messages that will assist us on our spiritual path.

Sort through the physical, emotional, and psychic debris, letting our intuition guide us as to what we want to keep - that which aids us, and that which needs to be let go of. Whatever it is that is ready to be released will go effortlessly if we allow ourselves to be in that place of openness to the goddesses' wisdom and healing. This will become a rebirthing for us, while letting us make room for new blessings, ideas, new life.

Ten of Keys
The Hekate Tarot, A Tool of Transformation
by T. Bebout & H. Ezerins

This card, from the Hekate Tarot, is the "Know Thyself" card, the Ten of Keys. At this time of year, we make the descent within, we strive for introspection, withdrawing into ourselves, and begin a period of spiritual and physical reflection. This card represents the mirror, truth, and oracular work; again, all appropriate for the season.

As much as it is a time for this reflection, many of us will avoid it. It is not easy to know and acknowledge our true selves. Who are we really?  When we catch a glimpse, sometimes it is uncomfortable, but that discomfort will pass, we can release the judgement. We need to unlock the doors that block that release, hold tight those secrets. And we must remember, whatever else there is, there is beauty, love, deep peace.

This is the time to seek the Goddess within us, for She is always there,  residing with us. See the tender and sometimes frustrated beauty of the Inner Child. Look and see the Mature Mother, She who knows all things and nurtures us, even when we don't believe we are capable of receiving that nurturing. Acknowledge the wisdom and beauty of the Wise Old Crone, the Grandmother who will teach us all we need to know and how to get on with the business of life and our spiritual paths. Look deeper still and find the inner wild spirit self and allow her the freedom to dance, sing, create, love. Merge with them all and BE, with full awareness and knowing. Know thyself, indeed.

Mirror Work: This card encourages us to physically stare into a mirror and see who we are. Similar to mirror gazing for divination, a soft light, some incense such as Dragon's Blood, and a large mirror, full length, if possible. Remove your clothing and stand naked before the mirror. Stare into your own eyes with the intention to see who you truly are in this life, the here and now. Emotions will surface, let them come, feel them; release them without judgement and with love. Ask, "Who am I, who is my true self?"

This would be a good practice throughout the season, Autumn, Winter, the time of going deep within. Try this once a week or more if you can, and certainly on Hallows. May you find your true self and love her.

Blessings dark and deep!

Weekly Oracle

Aura - Observation
from Divination of the Ancients
by Barbara Meiklejohn-Free and Flavia Kate Peters

Time to take a good look around, feel from your innermost self to the outermost. What is there? What is around you? What is it you are seeing and feeling, what are various omens telling you?

There are people, energies, spirits, or a combination of the three, that may be telling you a good story, making you feel that they have your best interests at heart. Right now, this is not the case. Allow those feelings from the gut that you have been dismissing to come to the surface. What is truly behind them? At this time, it is important to do this.

Investigate, cogitate, meditate, especially about those things you have skimmed over, shook your head at and said it is your imagination. Look into your energy bodies, feel and see them. Are there hooks from anyone? Look at the energy bodies of others, notice all the details, in both their mannerisms and how their energy feels. Observe and the truth will be there... and that is what is in your best interest.

Daily centering, grounding, and shielding should become like breathing, absolutely necessary and done without having to think about it, an involuntary response of your energy system. Observing signs, omens, gut feelings, should also be as natural as breathing too. See the good in others, but be aware. Always ask if this is truly in your best interest, your highest good. Let Spirit guide you.and trust yourself.

Incantation

As I take a look around,
Things aren't quite what I once found.
The veil has lifted, eyes are bright,
Observing all with my new sight.

Weekly Oracle

Peacemaking
from The Gospel of Aradia oracle by Stacy DeMarco

This is Stacy's new oracle deck and I am finding it very interesting not just as an oracle tool, but also in teaching Aradia's stories.

Peacemaking... ultimately it is a choice and comes from within us. We need to rely only upon ourselves in choosing to be peaceful, to make peace with a person or situation. Choosing peace is about accepting, forgiving, going with the flow, deciding what is best for us. Staying angry or holding on to some other negative emotion, does not serve us. I am not saying that you must never be angry or feel a negative emotion. We are human and it is part of our nature to experience a broad range of feelings both positive and negative. Feeling those negative emotions is healthy, holding onto them is not. That initial anger must be released appropriately, by stepping out of it, working it off, letting it go.  Being angry all the time will take its toll on our health on all levels, spiritual, emotional, physical. We forgive to help ourselves, it is not about the other person. There are situations we must walk away from, difficult but not impossible. There is always a way. It is always your choice. Seek the answers.

Nor can we make peace for others, they must do that themselves. We can bring the energy of peace to others so that it touches them, influences, and possibly assists in healing them, but the choice to be in peace is up to them. Don't get caught up in others' negativity in the name of trying to help. Set your boundaries and keep them.

Surrounding ourselves with, breathing in peace is healing and soothing. Grounding and shielding is an effective practice to keep peace in our lives; it is a basic skill for the witch and priestess. It gives us a stable and strong platform from which to live, work, heal. Being in nature, working with the Elements, connecting to Mother Earth, will assist us in weaving peace into our lives while opening ourselves and allowing its grounding energies in. Then... we can be in peace.

A daily practice of grounding and shielding, bringing in peaceful energies, will sustain us and we will be able to better accomplish the tasks we take on, manifest that which we desire, and stay in a highly spiritual place.

Blessings nine!

Healing

I jotted this down one day, before I was going to facilitate a Reiki circle in the evening. I shared it with everyone who attended and it seems to be appropriate to share it today. Whoever needs it will find it.

When we are experiencing periods of self-doubt, insecurity, pain, fear, anxiety, depression - whatever challenge it may be - it would serve us to remember that we are releasing aspects of ourselves that were created based on what we have been exposed to in our lives, yet no longer need. All of these feelings are keys to a process of transformation. We can stay in the same place or move through the feelings, acknowledging them, releasing, forgiving, be it ourselves or someone else, then moving on, free. This is healing.

Underneath these experiences of transformation, which can be frightening and difficult sometimes, and at other times easier to work through, we benefit by remembering self-love and self-awareness is where to find relief and a more clear reflection of who we really are. When we see who we truly are through love, the pristine essence that we will find is the Wise One or Higher Self, the one who, while knowing fear, defeat, or suffering, is the one who is Light, Power, Force, and Liberation. Finding that Wise One and allowing ourselves to move through the experiences as part of a learning process, sets us free.

Don't become too caught up in the journey to "arrive" - remember that all these experiences benefit us in some way by moving us along our path. We may not consciously know exactly what that benefit is, but we have evolved thanks to those experiences. Would we have liked to skip some of them? All of them? Sure, they aren't always pretty or nice, they are frightening. But that's what we are here for, to experience and heal. This process is for our progression - if we allow it to be.

Winston Churchill said it best, " When you are going through hell, keep on going." In other words, keep going, you will get to the end and make it through.

Is It Still A Mystery Tradition?

There will be many people who will not agree with what I have to say about this subject. Lady knows, some of my own friends, practicing witches, Pagans, and Polytheists, all for many, many years, don't all agree. We simply agree to disagree and go our own ways, down our own paths, because we are friends, and we truly respect each other's right to practice as we see fit.

Respecting others' right to practice as they choose is very important. How I choose to practice is none of anyone's business. However, if you are attending one of my rites, you will not be able to bring your children. I know many who have their children attend rites for sabbats, full moons, and other rituals. I don't attend those rituals. I don't attend large open rituals, especially with people I don't know. If you are invited to attend my rituals you will not be a man, you will be a woman who was born a woman, and you will be expected to be respectful of the Goddesses, Spirits, the Ancestors, the other women, and the way this coven practices. You will be expected to wear simple ritual clothing, not some outlandish, silly costume. You will come with the mindset that this is a mystery tradition for women, it is not open to just anyone; my coven, my choice of who belongs.

Why? Well, there are a few reasons. I see my practice, my artes of magick, communion with the Goddesses, as sacred and private. I feel, and again, this is only my opinion, my way for me, that a very large ritual generally ends up as dead space with many people who do not focus, are not respectful because they think it is a party, a freaky thing to do - not all, but many I have attended in years past. I want to know who I am practicing with and where they are coming from spiritually. I want to know that they are serious about their journey.

I also want to create a place where women are not intimidated or judged by standards that society has chosen. I want them to feel safe to open themselves to the Goddesses, to each other. I want them to find that sacred safe place.

We have sacrificed the Mystery for acceptance and popularity; with that we have lost a great deal. I do not give a rat's patootie  how others' judge what I do. It isn't open for discussion or opinions. And that is a good thing. While I share many things on this blog, there is much more that isn't shared and will never be. However, I want to give women who are searching for something more Goddess-centered, more woman-centered, a safe place for spiritual expression. I want to share a basic foundation for them to build their own practice, away from prying eyes and judgement.

For some reason, at this Hallowstide season, I felt the need to share this.
